"Time of Rent" Energy Disclosure - In September of 2021, the City of Minneapolis is putting into effect an ordinance that landlords have to disclose how much energy bills are before you sign a lease. Details of the ordinance can be found here (first item).
After you move in:
1) Get an energy audit! Households that make less than $100,000 a year can get free energy audits through MNCEE (Minnesota Center for Energy and the Environment). You can sign up for a virtual and/or in-home audit at at MNCEE.org.
2) Visit CenterPoint Energy - DIY Home Efficiency for free weatherstripping, window storm kits and low cost programmable thermostats!
3) Get tips on how to save energy and reduce your bills at CenterPoint Energy - tips and assistance, including information on payment assistance.
